“Laughter is the best medicine,” a very
famous saying that Filipinos really believe in. This is also one of the reasons
why we became different from other races, why the other countrymen admire us
and why should we be proud of our nationality.
June
to September is the hardest time for every Filipino. It is the time wherein a
lot of storms were coming, plenty of properties were destroyed and several lives
were gone. Despite of these tragic events, you can still hear those loud laughter
and see those sweet smiles within our fellowmen’s faces. Other countrymen are even asking “how do the Filipinos can bear to laugh and smile after what happened to
them?” It doesn’t mean that they are not giving importance to their properties
or not treasuring the lives of their relatives, but it’s just that they still
want to show their hope and faith. Hope that they are able to start their new
life again and faith that God will always give them strength and guidance with
their new journey. Filipinos believe that everything happens for a reason. God
never gave them a problem that they can’t solve instead it’s just a test of
their hope and faith, at the same time; it is also an agent - an agent that
will help them in building up their stronger personalities.
Behind
those loud laughter is sorrow; behind those sweet smiles is the feeling of
emptiness. However, Filipinos proved that “after the rain, there is
always a rainbow.” This is the rainbow that symbolizes their hope, their faith and
their new journey. Life is beautiful. It is better if you will enjoy it,
because if you’re just going to full yourself with sadness, you will never
appreciate how beautiful to live in this world.(The Papyrus)
